While talking to food enthusiasts and cooks, I discovered an opportunity to alter the fixed nature of the traditional faucet. This led to looking at various mechanisms that allow the faucet to move with the task. These moveable fixtures helped to create a more customizable workspace.
I looked at various magnetic and mechanical systems to facilitate the movement and sketched out product ideas. Based on reviews with the faucet and kitchens teams, the Sliding Faucets were selected for further development.
Exploring with the CMF components was especially interesting, since we were designing something that functioned like an industrial product but it had to live in a residential setting. I considered Marble, Neoroc (recycled glass composite) and Wood to add some homely warmth to the product.
